PTE Academic Scoring System: The 10–90 Scale
PTE Academic uses a 10–90 scale for scoring, with 90 being the highest possible score.
Your score report provides:
Overall Score: Calculated based on performance across all test items.
Communicative Skills Scores: Individual scores for Listening, Reading, Speaking, and Writing (10–90 each).
Skills Profile: Detailed feedback on sub-skills like Grammar, Vocabulary, Pronunciation, Spelling, and more.

PTE Academic Preparation Tips
Understand the Integrated Scoring: Many questions contribute points to two different skills (e.g., Repeat Sentence scores for both Speaking and Listening). Identify these high-weight tasks and prioritize them.
Familiarize Yourself with the Format: PTE is fully computer-based and has unique question types (like Write from Dictation and Describe Image). Knowing the exact structure and time limits for each task is crucial for pacing.
Prioritize Fluency and Pronunciation (Speaking): Since the speaking section is scored by an AI, a natural, smooth pace and clear pronunciation are key. Practice with high-quality microphone equipment that mimics the test center.
Master Time Management: The test has strict time limits, especially within the Speaking & Writing section. Practice allocating time efficiently for complex tasks like the Essay and Summarize Spoken Text.
Utilize Official Mock Tests: Practice with official scored mock tests that use the same AI scoring engine as the real exam. This provides the most accurate feedback on your weak areas and helps track progress on the 10-90 scale.
